Trinity golf teams excel at district tournament

LUBBOCK – The Trinity golf teams had a really good day at the TAPPS District 1-4A Tournament on Thursday with a team title and two medalist titles at The Rawls Course.

The Trinity boys won the district title by eight shots over Lubbock Trinity with a 350 score.

The Chargers were led by Andrew McWilliams, who won the medalist title by a shot with a 77.

Trinity teammates Ansh Patel and Colin Fisher tied for seventh after each shot an 87, while Trinity medalist Hagan Renfro was 10th with an 87 and also qualified for the regional tournament, which will be held April 25 in Waco.


Trinity senior and Lubbock Christian University signee Ali Escamilla won the girls ‘medalist title by 14 strokes with a 74. Her performance helped the Lady Chargers finish second in the team standings with a 444 as they will also be joining the boys’ team at the regional tournament.
