Storylines to watch for Vanderbilt baseball in second half of SEC season

Midway through SEC play, it’s been a rollercoaster for Vanderbilt baseball. The Commodores have lost three of five SEC series so far, getting swept by Tennessee.

Vanderbilt (26-10, 7-8 SEC) has struggled in several key areas since SEC play started, most notably the starting rotation and lineup depth.

But a series win over Florida last weekend that included two come-from-behind victories gave the Commodores a little bit of momentum. Now, headed into a series at Kentucky (21-16, 5-10) starting Friday, Vanderbilt sits at ninth in the RPI and could still potentially host a regional if things go right – but the winning will need to start soon.
