Scouting Vanderbilt Baseball Vs. Tennessee Vols

Vanderbilt baseball has had the upper hand in its rivalry with Tennessee for over 15 years. But this year, the Commodores are the underdogs at home to the Vols, unanimously ranked No. 1 and riding a 16-game winning streak.

No. 5 Vanderbilt (20-4, 4-2 (24-1, 6-0 SEC) is no slouch this year, but the Commodores simply have not been the dominant force that Tennessee is, with questions around who the Sunday starter is and a lineup that sometimes can’t get the big hit.The Vols (24-1, 6-0), meanwhile, are clicking on all cylinders, ranking first in the SEC in most major stats.

Vanderbilt has not lost a series to Tennessee at home since 2009, when the Vols swept in Nashville. The Commodores are coming off a series loss to South Carolina while Tennessee swept Ole Miss.
