HELLERTOWN, Pa. – Loyola Maryland shot a second-round team score of 2-over par 290 to open a six-stroke advantage over second-place Colgate after the second round of the 2022 Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,655-yard Steel Club in Hellertown, Pa.
The Greyhounds sit at 8-over par 584 (294-290) heading into Sunday’s final round, with Colgate (+14, 590) moving into second place with a team score of 3-over par 291 on Saturday. Host Lafayette finished the round one stroke behind the Raiders at 15-over for 591 through two rounds. Lehigh and Army West Point head into the final day tied for fourth place at 23-over par 599, while Holy Cross (+24, 600), Navy (+26, 602) and Bucknell (+10, 609) round out the eight -team field.
Greyhounds’ junior Carlo Pizzano shot a tournament-best 4-under par 68 in the second round to surge into the lead with a 4-under par 140 (72-68) through 36 holes. Lafayette senior Ryan Tall is two strokes behind the leader in second place at 2-under par 142 (69-73). Pizzano’s Graduate student teammate Brandon Berry, last year’s individual medalist, fired a 1-under par 71 on Saturday to move into the Sole possession of third place at 1-under par 143 (72-71) for the tournament.
Holy Cross junior Christian Emmerich (+1, 145) and Colgate junior Jack Maguire (+2, 146) will enter the final round in fourth and fifth, respectively. Bucknell freshman Michael Rudnick and Lehigh junior Daniel Song are tied for sixth at 4-over par 148.

INDIVIDUAL HONORS: The competitor with the lowest three-round score will be an individual medalist in the Patriot League Men’s Golf Championship. The top five finishers are named to the All-Patriot League First Team, with the next five finishers making the second team. Patriot League men’s golf head coaches will vote on the 2022 Patriot League Player, Rookie and Coach of the Year at the conclusion of the Championship.
CROWNING A TEAM CHAMPION: Each of the eight participating teams is comprised of six golfers, with the top-four scorers in each round counting toward the team score. The final team score will be determined by totaling all completed rounds. Individual scoring consists of the lowest aggregate score of all completed rounds.
