We are both Christian Brother Schools and both staffs have very good working relationships, so it just made a lot of sense for us. We will be the first New York team to play Bergen Catholic in 14 years. We played them in 2009 at MetLife Stadium. Our other out of state game is against Springfield Central, which is regarded as one of the top, if not the best football program in Massachusetts. Again, we have long established relationships with their staff and we are very excited to get the two programs together. We have been working on it for a couple years now. In addition to our out of state games, we have our usual extremely competitive AAA schedule with all our annual rivals on board.”

Crusaders head Coach Mike O’Donnell: “We have a great team returning and we wanted to challenge them by playing against great schools. We were invited to Chattanooga by the Baylor School. It’s a great opportunity for our players to go play the No. 1 team in Tennessee and spend some time in Nashville and Chattanooga. We plan on visiting Vanderbilt University and watching the Vanderbilt-Alabama A&M game while we are down there. It’s a once in a lifetime experience for our coaches and players. We also will host New Jersey Championship team DePaul Catholic. It will be our second year playing against them. Adding two out of state power teams to our already loaded schedule will provide some great football. New York high school football has started to get noticed across the country and more games like this will help kids in the New York area get recruited on a national stage.”zTop returning players: Will Currid, Sr., QB; Deonte Douglas, Sr., DB/WR; Sam Madu, Sr., CB; Jahi Gary, Sr., WR; Jordan Osbourne, Sr., RB; Lorenzo Robinson, Sr., RB; Ryan Diaz, Sr., OL; Harrison Brown, Sr., OL; Ed Palumbo, Sr., LB; DJ Williams, Jr., OL; Garrison Heslop, Jr., CB; Zaire Spellman Jr., WR.
