Blue Jackets lose sixth straight game in 5-2 loss to Boston Bruins

BOSTON – In each of their last six games, the Blue Jackets have had a chance to win. And in each of their last six games, that chance has slipped away.

In a 5-2 loss to the Bruins on Saturday night at TD Garden, Columbus led 2-1 early in the second period but couldn’t hang on from there, much like it couldn’t hang on in Tuesday’s loss to New York, or in any of the other games that have made up the six-game winless streak.

“We were in this game,” associate coach Pascal Vincent said. “It’s a 2-2 hockey game (in the third period). We’re doing a good job on the (penalty kill), and then one shot, one tip, (Boston scores), and then you’re pushing the pace from there. Again, they competed hard. They did. “
