Pierre defensive back Jayden Wiebe Flipped his commitment from Northern State to the University of Sioux Falls Tuesday, marking the third Governors football player to flip from NSU to USF over the last few weeks.
Wiebe joins recent University of Sioux Falls commits Jack Merkwan, a star wide receiver for the Governors, and Christian Busch, a senior Offensive lineman on perhaps Class 11AA’s best front five. Merkwan caught 48 passes for 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns last year while Busch contributed to a blocking unit that allowed the Governors to rush for 2,128 yards en route to its sixth-straight Class 11AA state title.

Wiebe, Busch and Merkwan add to new USF head Coach Jim Glogowski’s first recruiting class with the Cougars, featuring several South Dakota high school football products. Harrisburg tight end and defensive end Aiden Foley and Jefferson safety London Kolb are among other members of the recruiting class.
Pierre had several more college football commitments, including Big Ten signees Lincoln Kienholz (Ohio State) and Jason Maciejczak (Nebraska), who signed their National Letters of Intent during the early signing period. The next National Signing Day takes place on Feb. 1.
